Former US First Lady Rosalynn Carter Dies at the Age of 96

Rosalynn Carter, the former First Lady of the United States, passed away on Sunday at the age of 96 in her hometown of Plains, Georgia. She died peacefully with her family by her side.

Rosalynn was the wife of former President Jimmy Carter, who praised her as his equal partner in all of his accomplishments. He said that as long as she was in the world, he always knew that someone loved and supported him. The couple married in 1946 and have four children.

It was revealed in May that Rosalynn Carter was suffering from dementia, and it was announced last Friday that she was receiving palliative care at home. Jimmy Carter has also been receiving palliative care at home with his family since mid-February.

Rosalynn had a significant influence on policy during her husband’s presidency and campaigned for social issues and wrote several books. She was known for her advocacy work and dedication to her family and the nation. Her legacy will be remembered by many who knew her personally or admired her from afar.
