Bannon, Former Trump Advisor, is Incarcerated

In a blow to former Donald Trump advisor Steve Bannon, the Supreme Court has denied his appeal and ordered him to report to prison by Monday. This follows Bannon’s attempt to avoid serving a four-month sentence for defying subpoenas from the January 6 commission.

Bannon was convicted of contempt of Congress in Washington in July 2022 and sentenced to four months in prison in October of the same year. However, US District Judge Carl Nichols had previously suspended Bannon’s sentence while he appealed the decision. The judge stated that there was no justification for continuing to delay Bannon’s sentencing and incarceration.

This development marks the latest chapter in Bannon’s legal troubles stemming from his involvement in the events surrounding January 6. Despite his efforts to challenge the charges against him, Bannon will now have to face the consequences of his actions and serve his prison sentence.
