East Peoria buffet reluctantly closes after just three months of operation

Farmer’s Buffet, the East Peoria eatery that opened in mid-March, has announced its closure after three months in business. The buffet, located at 206 W. Camp St., shared the news on its Google profile with a photo that read “Our journey has come to an end.”

The buffet was an American-style restaurant that featured pizza, a carving station, a dessert bar, a salad bar, daily specials and more. The announcement sparked plenty of conversation among community members on social media, with over 360 comments and 288 shares on a Journal Star post sharing news of the opening.

Farmer’s Buffet thanked the community for its support and said it was incredibly grateful for the memories created together in its closing announcement. “Though our journey ends here,” the buffet wrote in the update, “we hope the flavors and experiences you enjoyed at Farmer’s Buffet will remain with you.”

The closure of Farmer’s Buffet adds to the list of restaurants in the area that have recently shut down. A downtown Peoria restaurant closed nearly one year after its revival in an iconic spot while a Peoria Heights Mexican restaurant closed after less than two years in business.
