Today, we have a packed schedule of observations and activities aimed at enhancing our understanding of the terrain and atmosphere in the area we are studying. We will use the ChemCam and Mastcam instruments to gather data on the Murray formation’s texture and chemistry. Additionally, we will take a small Mastcam mosaic to capture images of cross-stratification and nodules nearby. Before moving on to our next location, we will take a small MAHLI mosaic of “Berg Aukas.”
After our drive, we will take standard post-drive imaging to provide context and aid in targeting for future observations. On the second sol, we have included an untargeted science block in our plan. This block will consist of a ChemCam autonomously selected target and a Mastcam observation to monitor the opacity of the atmosphere.
By completing these tasks, we hope to gather valuable data that will contribute significantly to our mission goals.
