Explore Pittsburgh’s Cultural Wonders for Free this Summer with Allegheny Regional Asset District’s Expanded Staycation Program

Pittsburgh’s most popular attractions are offering free admission this summer, thanks to the Allegheny Regional Asset District (RAD). The Carnegie Museum of Natural History, National Aviary, Phipps Conservatory and other regional assets will be providing more than 100,000 free tickets from May to August. All visitors need is an Allegheny County library card and a reservation to access the free admission.

This is part of RAD’s expanded Summer Staycation program that aims to give back to taxpayers who fund these projects. Last August, the Andy Warhol Museum, Children’s Museum and Heinz History Center were open for free every operating day. RAD received feedback from many individuals who mentioned they would not have been able to afford it otherwise. RAD Board Chair Dan Griffin emphasized that regional assets should give back to taxpayers who fund them.

The free admission dates will be available on RADPass.org starting May 1, with more offers being added throughout the summer. Visitors are requested to be considerate neighbors by canceling reservations if they can’t make it so that someone else can take advantage of the opportunity. This initiative is sure to attract visitors from all walks of life and provide an exciting opportunity for families and individuals alike to explore Pittsburgh’s cultural gems without breaking the bank.
