“Ready for Change: Building Effective Climate Readiness” is the topic of the next “Science on the Sound” lecture series event, which will take place on May 23 at 6 p.m. at the Coastal Studies Institute on the ECU Outer Banks Campus in Wanchese. Dr. Alex Hodges, a clinical professor in the Department of Advanced Nursing Practice and Education at ECU, will be delivering this presentation.
Dr. Hodges is an expert in climate change and has worked with organizations such as Americares and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Her research focuses on the climate impacts within Eastern North Carolina, and during her session, she will provide a nurse practitioner’s perspective on climate change and its implications for primary care.
Dr. Hodges also volunteers at the Community Care Clinic of Dare, providing primary care services, and serves on the Dare County Board of Health and Human Services. This free event is open to the public, and it will also be live-streamed on the CSI YouTube channel.
