Currie joins Oxford after leaving Wimbledon

Jack Currie has officially joined Oxford United on a long-term deal, following his successful stint with AFC Wimbledon in the 2023-24 season. The left-back played a crucial role in Wimbledon’s 10th place finish in League Two, contributing a goal and an assist along the way.

Des Buckingham, head coach at Oxford United, is thrilled to have Currie on board, citing his experience and fit within the team’s playing style as key factors in his signing. Buckingham believes that Currie will bring a positive impact to the squad and help them continue to develop their culture and environment as they prepare for their first season back in the Championship.

Ed Waldron, Head of Recruitment at Oxford United, was also excited about the addition of Currie to the team. He described him as an “exciting full-back” and revealed that they had been monitoring him closely for some time before making their move. With Oxford United set to compete in the second tier of English football for the first time in over 25 years following their victory over Bolton in the League One play-off final in May, Currie will be an important addition to the team as they look to build on their success and establish themselves back at this level.
