In the Southern part of Mississippi, the Forrest County Board of Supervisors and the Southern Mississippi Planning and Developing District are working together to host a Health & Resource Fair for senior citizens in Brooklyn. The goal of this event is to help seniors prioritize their health and well-being.
Taking place on April 18th from 10 a.m. to noon at the Brooklyn Community Center, attendees can expect to receive free health screenings, community resources, and aging services provided by SMPDD. This initiative is just one way that the county is showing care and support for its residents’ health.
“It’s crucial for seniors to take care of their health,” said Forrest County Board President Terri Bell. “This fair is an opportunity for them to access important resources and services that will help them maintain a healthy lifestyle.”
In addition to health screenings, refreshments will be provided, as well as door prizes for attendees. This event is not only about taking care of one’s physical health but also about mental and emotional well-being. It’s an excellent chance for seniors in Brooklyn to learn more about how they can improve their quality of life through various resources and services available at the fair.
