Avoid direct contact with the victim and try to disconnect the power source by turning off the circuit breaker, unplugging the plug or removing the fuse. Do not apply water, mud or herbal medicine to the burn as it can make it worse.

In case of a high-voltage line, avoid attempting to remove anyone from the wire until the power is turned off first. Wear insulated gloves and stand on an insulating object while assisting them without touching them directly. Transfer them promptly to a medical facility for further treatment.
