High School Softball had two exciting games on Monday, April 22. In the first game, Eastwood defeated Socorro 3-1 with Miranda Guillen earning the win. Guillen hit a solo homerun and Gaby DeAnda had a 2-RBI double, securing the 2nd seed for Eastwood in the upcoming playoffs.
In High School Baseball action on the same day, Ysleta edged out Bel Air with a 5-4 victory. Derek Licon pitched 3 innings, allowing 2 runs and striking out 5 batters. Leading hitters for Ysleta included Angel Flores, Moré Lozano, and Jacob Lopez, who all contributed to the win.
Several other baseball games took place on Monday as well. Riverside defeated Irvin 16-2 with notable performances from Poblano, Bermudez, Fuentes, Lopez, Recoder, Nuñez, and Olivas. Canutillo beat Jefferson 6-2 with I. Garza, I. Melendez, E. Fargas, D. Cossio, E. Melendez
