Drink Your Way to a Healthier Liver: How Beverages Rich in Essential Nutrients Can Improve Hepatitis B

Hepatitis B is a liver infection that can lead to serious damage such as cirrhosis and liver cancer. In Vietnam, about 10 million people are living with hepatitis B, most of them in the chronic form. To improve hepatitis B, it is important to consume beverages rich in essential vitamins and minerals, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Milk is a great source of high-quality protein that strengthens the immune system and promotes liver cell repair. It also aids in the body’s absorption of calcium and vitamin D. Young coconut water is rich in nutrients that support liver health and boost the production of important liver enzymes with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Turmeric starch water contains curcumin, which inhibits hepatitis B virus infection and proliferation. Green or black tea is rich in antioxidants that can prevent viral infections and support liver function.

MSc. Nguyen Anh Duy Tung from Nutrihome Nutrition Center emphasizes the importance of a scientific and balanced diet that includes essential nutrient groups to strengthen the immune system, improve liver function, and enhance treatment effectiveness for hepatitis B. Adding drinks rich in protein, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants can help protect liver cells and support the body’s recovery process from hepatitis B infection.

Coffee is also beneficial for reducing fat accumulation in the liver, promoting anti-inflammation, and decreasing virus levels in the blood. It is important for individuals with hepatitis B to have regular check-ups, take prescribed medication, maintain a healthy lifestyle by avoiding alcohol, cigarettes, foods high in salt, sugar, and fat, as well as supplementing with natural essences like S. Marianum and Wasabia to further support liver function and prevent complications of cirrhosis and liver cancer.

In conclusion, consuming a variety of beverages rich in essential vitamins and minerals can help improve hepatitis B by strengthening the immune system
