In Worcester, Mass., the Wachusett and St. Paul baseball teams faced off in a doubleheader on Monday, adding another chapter to their rivalry. The first game went nine innings and ended in a 6-5 victory for Wachusett.
The Knights started off strong, scoring three runs in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game at 3-3. However, Wachusett had an early lead, scoring single runs in the second, third, and fourth innings to go up 3-0. The decisive run came for Wachusett in the top of the ninth when Caden Lane scored.
Nate Roy had a standout performance for Wachusett, going 3-4 with three RBI. Ethan DiVito also contributed to their success by hitting a home run. On the other hand, Colon Kreuz led St. Paul with a solid 3-3 showing at the plate. Both starting pitchers put up impressive performances on the mound during the game. Matt Moreno pitched for Wachusett while Nick Fennucio was on duty for St. Paul.
Overall, it was an exciting matchup between two talented teams as they battled it out on Tivnan Field.
