In 2024, Phil Taylor, also known as ‘the Power’, will retire from the World Senior Darts Tour after a glittering career on the oche that spans over 35 years. The 16-time world champion had initially retired from the sport in 2018 but returned to competitive darts last year following his appearance in the PDC World Championship final.

Taylor has expressed his love for performing and for the journey he’s had throughout his career. He stated that it’s time to step away from the tour and continue working hard to give fans what they want. The World Senior Darts Tour consists of 11 events, including the World Senior Darts Championship at the Circus Tavern in February, and Taylor aims to go out on a high in 2024.

Billy Lovell of World Senior Darts Tour praised Taylor as one of the UK’s greatest sportspeople and expressed gratitude for his decision to come out of retirement at the beginning of the project. Lovell also highlighted the fun they have had with Taylor throughout his final year on tour and anticipated that it will be enjoyable as he prepares to say goodbye to dartboard competition.
