Dangerous Diamond Shruumz Products Linked to Acute Illnesses, Public Warned by FDA

A warning has been issued by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to the public regarding a range of products that claim to contain a proprietary blend of mushrooms. These products, manufactured by Diamond Shruumz, include chocolate bars, cones, and gummies.

There have been severe acute illnesses reported in Indiana that may be linked to the consumption of Diamond Shruumz brand products. As of June 24, 2024, there have been a total of 39 reported illnesses from 20 states, resulting in 23 hospitalizations. Three confirmed cases have been reported in Indiana, although no deaths have been reported.

Individuals who became ill after consuming Diamond Shruumz brand products experienced a range of severe symptoms such as seizures, loss of consciousness, confusion, sleepiness, agitation, abnormal heart rates, changes in blood pressure, nausea and vomiting.

These products can be purchased online or at various retail locations throughout the country including gas stations smoke/vape shops or stores that carry hemp-derived or CBD products. If someone falls ill after consuming these products they should seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms should be reported to the Indiana Poison Center at 1-800-222-1222. Additionally callers should inform Poison Control that they have recently consumed Diamond Shruumz brand chocolate bars cones or gummies.
