Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne announced the establishment of the Cuyahoga County Office of Small Business on May 3. Cuyahoga County is home to over 30,000 small businesses, employing nearly 300,000 residents with an annual payroll of close to $18 billion. The Office of Small Business will facilitate connections and collaborations between businesses and various stakeholders in the county, including local chambers of commerce, trade associations, and industry leaders. It will serve as a one-stop shop for business owners to grow their networks, expand their workforce, explore financial opportunities, access educational services, and benefit from peer support resources.
According to Vaughn Johnson, deputy director for economic development at Cuyahoga County Executive’s office , there is a critical need for resources dedicated specifically towards supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs within the Department of Development . The Office Of Small Business will take a proactive approach in improving initiatives that enhance the experience of owning a small business in Cuyahoga County by working with key organizations it will connect new businesses with vital resources such as capital opportunities , procurement ,and contracting services .
