This week, high school sports in Lenawee County are thriving. The spring season has kicked off with a bang, and the girls soccer teams were the first to take to the field on Monday. Clinton emerged victorious over Tecumseh with an impressive score of 8-2. Aubrey Lauer scored six goals for Clinton, while Anna Schaffner added two more goals and two assists. Kaylee Raiser also contributed to Clinton’s win by providing two assists. Goalkeeper Jackie Whiting made six saves for Clinton, keeping his team’s goalposts secure. In another game, Monroe bested Blissfield 7-2 with their excellent play.

Moving on to lacrosse action, the Tecumseh girls team started their season with a tough loss to Sylvania Northview on Monday. The visiting team from Ohio proved to be a formidable opponent for the home team. Sapphira Williams and Emily Burgess each scored a goal and added an assist for Tecumseh. Jayden Poley and Jazlyn Reau also netted a goal each in the game. Despite their efforts, Tecumseh lost 16-4, but they can take comfort in knowing that they have some talented players on their roster who will help them improve as the season progresses.
