In the upcoming film Love Child, Elizabeth Olsen and Charles Melton are set to star alongside each other. The project is being directed by Todd Solondz and is being launched at this week’s European Film Market by Rocket Science. Love Child is a darkly comedic movie that tells the story of a woman who finds solace in her 11-year-old son after being trapped in a loveless marriage. When a charming stranger appears, the son comes up with a plan to remove his father from their lives.
The film is fully financed by Volition Media and Gramercy Park Media, with Rocket Science handling international sales at EFM. Indie stalwart Christine Vachon has reunited with director Solondz for this project, having previously collaborated on films such as Happiness and Wiener Dog. Elizabeth Olsen, known for her role in Marvel movies, has recently appeared in the HBO Max miniseries Love And Death, while Charles Melton was acclaimed for his performance in Todd Haynes’ May December. Rachel Weisz and Colin Farrell were originally attached to the project before it was presented at the Marche du Film in 2021.
