Marielle Thompson of Canada had a successful weekend at the World Cup women’s ski cross event in Georgia. On Sunday, she won her third consecutive gold medal, adding to her impressive record.

Thompson, who hails from Whistler, B.C., won two gold medals at the event and now has four wins in five races. She emphasized the importance of skiing cleanly and making minor adjustments in order to maintain speed. The start of the race was particularly crucial, so Thompson focused on being quick and powerful out of the gate.

France’s Marielle Berger Sabbatel and Switzerland’s Talina Gantenbein finished with silver and bronze medals, respectively. India Sherret of Cranbrook, B.C. finished fourth in the final.
