ByteDance’s TikTok Saga: A Clash of Security and Freedom of Speech

Despite opposition from lawmakers, who voted against requiring the sale of TikTok in a recent Senate debate, the bill was quickly approved.

This legislation gives ByteDance a limited time frame to sell TikTok’s US operations and provides the White House with new tools to address security threats posed by foreign-owned apps.
