Buccaneers Look to Fill Their Defensive Gaps with Elite Cornerback Terion Arnold in 2024 NFL Draft

As the 2024 NFL Draft approaches, teams are making their final preparations to build on their 2023 seasons. The draft will take place in Detroit, Michigan, with the first round scheduled for Thursday night. The Buccaneers, who made the playoffs last year, will be picking in the latter third with the 26th overall pick.

The Bucs are considering several options for their first-round selection, including a premier player along the offensive line, a pass rusher, or help solidify their defensive backs. In a recent first-round mock draft by CBS Sports’ Will Brinson, it looks like the team may be leaning towards selecting elite cornerback Terion Arnold from the University of Alabama.

Arnold is a Tallahassee, Florida native who had an impressive college career at Tuscaloosa. He earned honors like FWAA Freshman All-American and Freshman All-SEC in his early years at Tuscaloosa before continuing to excel in his redshirt sophomore season. Arnold was recognized as a first-team Associated Press All-American and an All-SEC first-team member in his redshirt sophomore season.

With the Bucs trading away Carlton Davis III and adding players like Zyon McCollum and Tavierre Thomas, they are still in need of bolstering their defensive backfield. Arnold would be a valuable addition to the team as he has shown his ability to excel in coverage and tackle opponents with ease.
