The Browns have announced that they will sign former Ravens quarterback and Super Bowl XLVII MVP Joe Flacco to their practice squad on Monday, following a successful workout with the team on Friday. Flacco, who is 38 years old, has been eager to play this year and had not received any significant interest until last week.
According to a league source, the Browns were very impressed with Flacco’s session, leading to them offering him a job. The Browns are currently relying on Dorian Thomson-Robinson as the starter and P.J. Walker as the backup. With Deshaun Watson out for the rest of the year due to knee and shoulder injuries, the team has been looking for additional options at quarterback.
Flacco was a first-round pick in 2008 and has previously played for the Ravens, Broncos, Jets, and Eagles. His return to the AFC North could potentially have an impact on the division.
