On February 14th, we are excited to launch a new series called “Taboos and Tricky Topics” that aims to engage in challenging conversations about science culture. We are inviting representatives from the chemistry community to participate in this series and encourage everyone to join the discussion.
This series is a follow-up to our Vision for a Great Science Culture, which was launched last year and outlined the values, behaviors, and expectations of a positive science community. Creating a positive science culture will benefit everyone, but it requires a collective effort and may present challenges.
The goal of this series is to address some of the tensions within science culture, such as the balance between advancing your research career and dedicating time to improving aspects of science culture. We want to provide a platform for individuals at different career stages and from different backgrounds to share their perspectives. Additionally, we welcome your input through our questions and comments board, where you can submit anonymously.
To participate in the conversation, visit our YouTube channel or LinkedIn page at 4pm UK time on February 14th. You can also submit your questions and comments at any time leading up to the event.
