Biden aims to negotiate a minimum six-week ceasefire in Gaza

The United States president Joe Biden has made an effort to negotiate a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip that will last at least six weeks. During this time, hostages will be released. He made these comments during a joint press conference with the King of Jordan, Abdullahin, at the White House. The president emphasized the importance of protecting civilians, specifically those in Rafah, which is located near the Egyptian border and has up to one million Palestinians in the region. Meanwhile, Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered his country’s armed forces to prepare for a ground attack on Rafah.
