BEAR, or Castle Country Business Expansion and Retention, is a community-focused organization aimed at supporting local businesses in Carbon and Emery counties. Led by Shanny Wilson, the Carbon County Economic Development & Tourism Director, BEAR works to promote growth and job creation within the region. By strengthening existing businesses, the initiative contributes to the economic resilience and sustainability of the area.
BEAR hosts monthly General Meetings on the fourth Thursday of each month at Utah State University Eastern in Price. These meetings provide a platform for networking, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing among local businesses, community members, leaders, and economic development stakeholders. The next meeting on April 25 will feature Brock Johansen, CEO of Emery Telcom, discussing collaborative efforts in economic development.
Attending BEAR General Meetings is a great way to stay updated on developments and opportunities in Carbon and Emery counties.
