Austrian Airlines Union Seeking Flight Attendants: Gross Annual Salary of €31,080 and Full-Time Position with Benefits

According to the advertisement on their homepage, applicants will undergo two months of training before beginning full-time employment with a gross annual salary of 31,080 Euros, which translates to 1,717 Euros net per month. After five years in the position, flight attendants can expect to earn 2,337 Euros gross per month, while after ten years, this increases to 3,475 Euros gross per month.

The AUA’s union Vida has outlined salary information for the profession. Flight attendants will earn a flat rate regardless of the number of long- or short-haul flights operated. The collective agreement in effect from March 2020 to December 2022 included a salary reduction of 15 to 20 percent. However, this was later reset to the old level with some employees experiencing real wage losses due to inflation.
