Antero GmbH: Facing Bankruptcy with a Goal to Restructure and Continue Operations

Famous ski and snowboard manufacturer files for bankruptcy

In 2009, KSV1870 was founded with the goal of producing premium-class ski and snowboard equipment in Fürnitz. However, due to the pandemic and its consequences, the company’s retail sales figures fell short, leading to over-indebtedness. Bankruptcy proceedings have been opened at the Klagenfurt Regional Court for the company’s assets, with liabilities totaling 2.274 million euros.

Originally, Antero GmbH had 15 employees, but currently there are only three. The company’s online platform offers individual snowboards, winter sports items, textiles, a community, entertainment features, and current information for fans of the board sports scene. Additionally, the company aims to provide products for companies that produce individual small series for special occasions.

Despite facing financial difficulties due to bankruptcy proceedings, Antero GmbH intends to continue operations in order to make the best possible use of existing raw materials and clarify whether financial and organizational requirements can be met for a restructuring plan application. The company is owned by Apricum GmbH and incurred an accumulated loss of 854,000 euros in the 2022 financial year with negative equity of 489,000 euros. Around 600
