Alkass, a Qatari network renowned for its comprehensive coverage of international and domestic sporting events, has announced plans to enhance its production capabilities by adopting EVS’ LiveCeption Signature solution. The agreement between the two companies, unveiled at NAB Show in Las Vegas, represents a significant leap forward for Alkass.
Under the new arrangement, Alkass will replace all legacy XT3 servers with EVS’ cutting-edge XT-VIA servers and integrate IP-based LSM-VIA replay systems. The advanced solution will be deployed across Alkass’ fleet of OB trucks in August.
The decision to transition to EVS XT-VIA servers and incorporate IP-based LSM-VIA replay systems was made by both companies at NAB 2024. This move ensures that Alkass remains future-ready and adaptable to their evolving needs while providing operators with fast and direct access to network content. With this solution, operators can navigate through live content seamlessly and create compelling replays and highlights of every captured moment. Moreover, the option to integrate XtraMotion, EVS’ AI-based super slow-motion service, enables storytellers to elevate their craft with super slow-motion replays that provide an immersive experience for audiences.
Issa bin Abdullah Al Hitmi, General Manager at Alkass, expressed his excitement about integrating EVS’ XT-VIA servers into their OB trucks after experiencing the benefits of EVS’ XS-VIA servers in their studio operations. He emphasized expanding the partnership with EVS to take production operations to the next level.
Serge Van Herck, CEO at EVS, expressed his confidence that the LiveCeption Signature solution would provide Alkass with unmatched capabilities for immersive live storytelling and audience engagement.
