The Ajman Statistics Center has released preliminary estimates for the Emirate of Ajman’s gross domestic product (GDP) for the year 2023. These estimates show that the emirate had a strong economic performance and achieved positive growth rates. At current prices, the GDP exceeded 36 billion dirhams, up from 33.9 billion dirhams in 2022, showcasing a growth rate of 6.25%.
At constant prices, the GDP totaled about AED 32 billion, compared to AED 30.5 billion in 2022, showing a growth rate of 4.7%. Dr. Hajar Saeed Al Hubaishi, Executive Director of the Center, highlighted the significant improvement in the emirate’s economic performance and emphasized efforts made to enhance sustainable development. The growth in the GDP demonstrates Ajman’s ability to overcome economic challenges and strengthen its position both locally and internationally.
The results showed that sectors like manufacturing, wholesale and retail trade, vehicle repair, and construction led the economy in contributing to the gross domestic product in 2023. Manufacturing accounted for 18.80%, wholesale and retail trade and vehicle repair for 18.04%, and construction for 16.42% at current prices.
