Since 2004, Mexico has made significant progress in expanding coverage for essential health services, but recent years have seen a decline. In the United States, there has been an initial decrease in the number of uninsured individuals following the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, but this progress has slowed down since then. Despite these efforts, many OECD countries still face gaps in population coverage for core health services that need to be addressed to achieve truly universal healthcare.
