Acrisure Arena’s Economic Impact: Boosting Palm Desert by $170 Million and Creating 2,000 Jobs

In 2023, the Acrisure Arena near Palm Desert made a significant impact on the local economy, boosting it by nearly $170 million. The economic impact report revealed that the arena injected a total of $168.5 million and supported almost 2,000 jobs, exceeding projections in areas such as annual direct spending and labor income. This data was compiled by Tourism Economics and announced by city officials.

Scott White, President & CEO of Visit Greater Palm Springs, expressed excitement over the positive economic contributions made by Acrisure Arena. He noted that in addition to being a beacon for world-class entertainment, the venue had also served as a catalyst for economic growth and job creation in the region. The arena hosted 117 events in the previous year, drawing in approximately 850,000 attendees, which was more than 20% higher than projected per event.

Acrisure Arena has an 11,000 capacity and was primarily used for concerts and home games for the American Hockey League’s Coachella Valley Firebirds. The Firebirds finished the 2023-24 season as runners-up for the second year in a row, showcasing their success on the ice. Additionally, the AHL Board of Governors unanimously selected Acrisure Arena to host the 2025 AHL All-Star Classic, highlighting the venue’s reputation as a hub of community spirit and economic vitality.
