17 Million Travelers Expected on Frecciarossa this Spring: A Look at Trenitalia’s Digital Bookings and Sustainable Transportation Choices

This spring, Trenitalia is expecting over 17 million travelers to journey during the long weekends linked to the holidays of April 25th and May 1st. With more than half of these travelers having purchased their tickets through digital channels, there has been a significant increase in bookings compared to 2023 purchases on site and the App. This growth in bookings demonstrates Italians’ conscious decision to use sustainable modes of transportation for their travels.

Popular destinations for these spring weekends include cities of art such as Florence, Naples, Rome, and Venice, as well as foreign destinations like Switzerland. Seaside destinations like Puglia, Liguria, Sicily, and Calabria are also popular choices among travelers.
